Are simple cysts the same thing as follicles?

I just had an ultrasound done on day 13 of my cycle (this was done under the diagnosis of dysmenohrrea but we were really trying to see if I was going to ovulate or had any structural problems). I told the tech that we were curious if there were any eggs follicles. The report says I have 2 'simple cysts'. They are the right size for ovulation in a day or so (and I got a positive OPK yesterday). Is that how they put down follicles on a report? Can they tell the difference between follicles and cysts or are they kind of the same at that point?
